Bahia has a new football manager. It is João Paulo Sanches, announced by the club on Thursday night, 27 days after the departure of football executive Lucas Drubscky and manager Júnior Chávare. João Paulo Sanches' most recent work took place in front of Atlético-GO.
Bahia announces João Paulo Sanches as new football manager
- Very excited about this opportunity. We will be focused on assembling strong teams, which make the stands play together, as I understand Bahia needs. Strength, grit and watching win games and win championships - said João Paulo Sanches, to Sócio Digital.
At 41 years old, the professional has already been a coach and also worked as a technical assistant at Ponte Preta, and at Atlético-GO itself. At Bahia, João Paulo will be responsible for assembling and managing the tricolor cast in 2022.
Even before agreeing with the new football manager, the board of Bahia hired four players: midfielder Rezende, and sides Luiz Henrique, Djalma Silva and Jonathan. The club also defined a series of departures of athletes at the end of their contract.
João Paulo Sanches has a degree in Physical Education and accumulated experience in the United Arab Emirates, between 2006 and 2007. He is scheduled to arrive in Salvador on Sunday.
